How do I get registered for an online course?
You can register online, in person, or over the phone, but you must be admitted to the college
first and take an assessment test. For more information about the admission and registration process, select New Students on our home page.
How do I get started in my hybrid course?
Enrolled students will be able to access online courses one week before class starts. To access your online course, please
follow the links to setting up your computer and login
information. You need to log into your course before the first class meeting. Most courses will have reading and/or other assignments due the first night
Where do I get information about textbooks?
To obtain information including required books and instructor email addresses,
please check the course syllabus.
Complete course syllabi will be available in your course site one week before the
first day of class. You will need to be enrolled to see the course site and
additional information.
Where do I buy my books and course materials?
To see a list of required books and materials, check the course syllabus.
If book information is not available, you can contact the LCC bookstore for help. You need to know your course and section
number (e.g. ENG 121-FT1) when requesting book information. Some courses may require additional software or other equipment. Please be sure to check the syllabus for details.
You can buy books at the Lamar Community College campus bookstore. Books may be mailed for a fee. Call the LCC bookstore for details at 719-336-1620.
What software do I need for my online course?
Students need a standard browser to access courses. Mozilla typically works better with Moodle than Internet Explorer does, but you will need to have Internet Explorer for the CIS 118 class. AOL users must use version 7.0 or higher. See instructions for setting
up your computer and be sure to set up your computer before the start of your course.
Students will also need Microsoft Word. Word is the standard in the industry and students will most
likely use this software in his/her profession. Microsoft Works is not the same as Microsoft Word. It is preferred students have Microsoft Word before classes begin.
What kind of a computer do I need?
Students will need to have access to a computer at all times during their online
course. Computer access will also be available on the LCC campus. However, students need to be aware in advance of the hours of operation and secure a back up in the event they are unable to come to the campus.

How do I submit course assignments?
This may vary from course to course. Some instructors will have you submit assignmnets via Moodle, and some may have you turn them in on Monday evenings
Will I be required to attend class meetings?
Yes. All classes in the Fast Track program will meet on Monday evenings from 6-9pm. (4 credit hour courses will meet 6-9:30pm.)
How will I complete exams and/or quizzes?
This may vary from course to course. Instructors have the option of giving quizzes online using the Moodle CMS or in class.
How much does distance learning cost?
Most courses will be at the same tuition rate as other courses. There may be additional fees for some classes.
